Ben Elder BA (Hons) BSc FRICS FCI Arb
Ben is Director of Business Development at the College of Estate Management. He holds a BA(Hons) in Economics, a BSc in Urban Estate Surveying and is a Fellow of the RICS and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Ben was a partner in an East Midlands firm of Chartered Surveyors before becoming a Senior Lecturer in Economics and Valuation at Nottingham Trent University in 1989. He became a member of Nottingham Trent University’s Senior Management Team in 1998. Ben joined the College in 2000 and became the Director of Business Development in 2007. As an Economist and a Chartered Surveyor Ben's particular interest is the interface of the economy and the property market. Ben is an active member of the RICS and served as an elected member of the RICS Valuation Faculty Board (and its executive) between 2002 and 2008 and Ben was elected as a ‘World Representative’ to the RICS International Governing Council in 2009. Ben studied with the College between 1978 and 1980 for the RICS Direct Finals.
Ben has been a key driver of the development of programmes at the College such as the Diploma in Surveying Practice and links with the RICS Associate qualification. He is a great supporter of the work of the work of the CSTT. Ben has held a regular column in Property Week giving advice to candidates regarding the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence.
