What we do to support your development

The CSTT was established by The Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors to help individuals overcome the barriers they face in pursuing a career in Surveying. We continue to enjoy the generous and enthusiastic support of Liverymen of the Worshipful Company who have helped accumulate charitable funds and developed strong links for the CSTT with many surveyors and surveying companies across the UK.

CSTT has evolved its activities in order to meet the requirements of its charitable objective, to facilitate entry into the surveying profession of people from non-typical parts of society.

As Apprenticeships emerged as an alternative route into the profession, the CSTT became one of the leading apprenticeship providers for the surveying sector working with hundreds of apprentices who are now part of the CSTT Alumni and who continue to provide their support. The trustees decided in 2016 that Apprenticeships were a mainstream route into the profession and that the CSTT should look to re-focus its efforts to non-typical entrants. As a consequence apprentices were transferred to the University College of Estate Management (UCEM) for whom they are a part of their core business, and the Board embarked on a journey to again focus on poorly represented groups, and identify barriers to entry into the profession that it can assist in overcoming.
