CSTT apprentice represents RICS team in Brathay Apprentice Challenge 2016
Laura Pell, a CSTT apprentice with Cushman & Wakefield, is representing the RICS team that has entered the 2016 Brathay Apprentice Challenge, the national search for the apprentice team of the year, supported by the National Apprenticeship Service.
Teams undertake a series of collaborative work-related challenges aimed at helping them to progress new skills and develop their careers. Each challenge is conceived to allow participants to demonstrate and develop their leadership, team building and communications skills.
Laura applied for a position to be on the RICS team after hearing about the Brathay Apprentice Challenge through The Apprentice Network, of which she is a committee member, and was joined the team of nine selected from a variety of employers including CBRE, Deloitte and Gardiner & Theobald.
The team has since taken part in several activities to earn points, and they hope to take part in a three-day challenge held in June where the winning team will be announced.
In recent weeks, the team has participated in various activities that have included job swaps. Laura is also involved in organising a networking event for the Apprentice Network and, on the 18th April, will be volunteering for a charity called Roots and Shoots, supported by Landaid, by. On the day, the team will be helping clear and improve a site by assisting with gardening, clearing the area and painting.
Laura and the team also organised a breakfast event at Battersea Power Station, with the RICS, to promote apprenticeships to some potential new employers, featuring guest speakers, a debate and an employer’s panel discussion.
The CSTT would like to wish Laura, and the whole RICS team, the best of luck in the challenge!
